Care of Creation and Renewal are working together at Urbana09. Here’s a bit about both of us…
Care of Creation (see us at www.careofcreation.org) is an environmental missions organization.
We’re about pursuing a God-centered response to the environmental crisis because we think that the people who believe God made the world, should be passionate about taking care of it.
Based in Madison, WI we’re currently at work in the USA and in Kenya.
We’re planting trees, teaching farmers how to farm God’s way and working on water collection and conservation projects. We’re also mobilizing the church to care about God’s creation through education, outreach and missions.
It’s about a biblical view of caring for creation.
Renewal (see us at www.renewingcreation.org) is a student-led creation care movement active on campuses throughout the United States and Canada.
Together, we are mobilizing as the student generation to lead our communities in the Christ-centered stewardship of all God’s creation. We do this by:
- Inspiring – Communicating awareness around the biblical call to care for creation, current environmental concerns, success stories and testimonies of renewal, and other stirring dispatches to keep the movement vibrant and growing.
- Connecting – Organizing online forums, job and internship boards, regional retreats, student conferences and other effective venues for building community and networking around creation care concerns.
- Equipping – Providing hands-on training, personal mentoring, leadership opportunities, project toolkits, and other accessible resources to empower the next generation of Christian leaders.
For us, creation care isn’t just a burden and a responsibility – it’s a blessing and an invitation to live in right relationship with our Creator. This means taking care of everything that God so lovingly creates and sustains – the earth and each other.
